I can't believe we are on the count down for Christmas! We've been busy which is good, but I feel like I haven't had time to slow down and totally enjoy the season. We had our Torgerson family party this last weekend & I just had to post these pics of our boys w/ Santa. (Thanks Aunt Kaye for snapping these cute pics. :) ) Hope everyone is enjoying this time of year & finding time to remember the importance of Christmas. Have a Merry Christmas!

I'm a lil bit behind... but I wanted to document a few things anyhow. This post consists of the end of October - the first part of November...

We have been staying very busy! We enjoyed taking a trip down to Utah to watch my brother Wyatt in the Wilderness Circuit Finals. One night at the Finals they made it a free ticket for the children if they wore there costumes. Hazen loved that! Also while down there we were able to visit w/ my Grandma Waldine. She got to meet Kruze for the first time. :) It ended up being somewhat of a sad trip for Hazen. He's been very into Toy Story, & has a few of the characters, well while at Grandma's he left his "Woody" there & Grandma has been unable to find him! Hazen is now determined that "Santa" will bring him a "Woody" & a "Buzz". Over the past few weeks we were also able to celebrate my 28th birthday. Doug had a blast getting me a cake & filling it w/ too many candles. (He put about double the amount on.) We also spent time helping Doug's family gather their cows in Humphrey. I love it up there & was even more excited that I got to help gather on back of a horse because my mother in law was kind enough to watch my boys. Thanks RENAY! All in all things have been going really well for us & we are just gearing up for the winter weather Idaho has in store... (more stories to follow) :)

Kruze's Blessing Day.

What a great day! :) We were so happy to be able to have our child blessed & able to share this wonderful day with family and friends. Doug did a wonderful job! I still can't believe we have two boys. It is awesome & I'm loving every minute of it. Here are a few pictures of the day. Both Grandpas with the baby, & Kruze & his cousin Kooper who was born just one week and two days after Kruze. Aren't they cute?! :) I wanted a family picture but we didn't get one. Oh well, I'm still not wanting pictures of myself at this point anyway! LOL. In due time... I'm just going to be grateful I have two beautiful boys, & hopefully I'll be back to normal someday. Also, we are proud to report that Kruze had a well check today & is now up to 12 lbs. He's put on almost 4 lbs. since his surgery just over a month ago. We are just so grateful for all our many blessings.

Just over a week ago... (9/16/10) our little Kruze had to undergo emergency surgery at 29 days old for...
Pyloric Stenosis-

A narrowing of the outlet from the stomach to the small intestine (called the pylorus) that occurs in infants.

It was such a sad thing to see but he is now doing so good & will hopefully be a very chunky lil monkey soon. :) I first noticed that Kruze's eating & spitting up... aka (projectile vomiting) was very abnormal at about 2 weeks of age. I had mentioned it to the pediatrician at his two week appointment & I was told that it was most likely reflux that it was very common in babies. I left the appointment somewhat at ease & figured we'd deal with it, but was still unsure as to the problem. Feeling frustrated a few days after dealing with nursing the poor guy & using a towel to lay across us each time knowing it was coming back up, I decided to try to look into what may be causing the problem. The first thing I turned to was the nursing pamphlet they hand out to you when you leave the hospital. I turned to the section discussing reflux & vomiting & read the part that talks about pyloric stenosis. It said, "When a baby continues vomiting forcefully after most feedings, you should suspect that either he is sensitive to something in your diet or he has a pyloric stenosis. Pyloric stenosis is an obstruction of the stomach that typically develops at about two to four weeks of age. Although the condition is most common in first-born males, it can occur in females. Typically the vomiting becomes progressively worse; the baby eventually stops gaining weight, or loses weight, and my become dehydrated. In the breastfed infant the condition my go undiagnosed longer than in a bottle-fed infant, since breast milk is digested much more easily than formula. The baby's weight may not be affected until the obstruction becomes nearly complete. Frequently waves can be seen moving across the baby's lower abdomen from the left side to the right just after feeding and prior to vomit ting. X-rays confirm the diagnosis. The obstruction is corrected with a relatively simple surgical procedure."
Just after reading this my visiting teaching partner calls me, & I'm trying not to bawl... I just knew that Kruze had more than reflux, but because I was trying not to be a paranoid mother & I pushed it to the back of my mind... until it continued to happen more & more often, getting worse each time. Until, the time my sister saw it happen almost two weeks after I had read in the booklet & she said, "Kens that's more than just reflux, get him to the Dr. tomorrow." It was too late to make an appointment that night so I had to make an appointment the next morning. We ended up seeing the pediatrician that next afternoon (9/15/10), & the Dr. was still unsure about what was going on. He still thought it was reflux but I asked him about the pyloric stenosis. He said it possibly could be but that was hard to diagnosis but he'd get an X-ray scheduled at the hospital. The next available time for that wasn't until the next morning (9/16/10) at 8 am. We planned for that and then the Dr. also informed me that Kruze couldn't eat for 4 hours before the X-ray. I thought to myself... "This is gonna be a LONG night."... Later that evening we had dinner with some friends and afterwards Doug & our friend Adam administered a blessing on Kruze. Can I just say how peaceful & happy Kruze was all night long. I didn't get to feed him anymore after 12:30 because he slept until 4:50 that morning. I gave him his pacifier and he slept until about 7:30 and did awesome! :) He's such a sweet boy. I was so grateful that Doug was willing & able to give our little boy a blessing & I know what a difference it made. The priesthood is amazing! We were at the hospital just before 8 and they didn't see until about 8:45, all the while Kruze continued to sleep. By 9:10 the radiologist had made his diagnosis... Kruze had pyloric stenosis & had to undergo surgery. It was pretty heart wrenching watching our little one get poked & prodded with needles n such but as soon as we found out that our neighbor & close friend Rob was performing the surgery all uneasy feelings went out the door... we knew then that he was in GREAT hands. :) This surgery consisted of one small incision on the right side of the abdomen & then making one slit through the muscle (the pylorus) so that Kruze's food could then pass through to the small intestine. At 12:30 p.m. they wheeled little Kruze into surgery, & at about 1:30-1:45 p.m. he was out of surgery & then admitted into the NICU to be monitored & cared for. He spent one whole night & almost two full days in the NICU. We are now glad to report that Kruze is home, keeping his food down, happy, healthy, & doing well! We love him so much & we are happy he's apart of our lives. :)

Beaver Dick Park

So last monday I hooked up the bike trailer & took the boys for a spin down the road to Beaver Dick Park. It was such a beautiful day that I decided we needed to take full advantage of it. :) We packed up a lunch & hit the road. It wasn't a bad bike ride, & it didn't take much time at all. When we got there Hazen told me that we needed to take pictures so we attempted to take one of all three of us, but as you can tell it took us 6 tries to get us all in the picture. It was a fun afternoon & a good way for me to get my exercise & for all of us to enjoy the fresh air & sunshine. :) Hazen had a blast playing on the toys & taking pictures off of my lil camera. It was a good day.

Kruze has finally joined our family! He is a very happy baby & we are SO happy to have him in our lives. Hazen has been very excited to be a big brother & the transition has actually been very Very good. ( I thought it was going to be much harder.) Hazen is having a wonderful time being the "big brother" and takes on the role w/a very serious attitude. We are so grateful to everyone for all of their thoughtfulness & all the prayers & support of everyone. After all the hours of labor is over, it's all good, we are all happy, & we are just glad to have him here safe & sound.

Summer Time Fun!

Holy Cow... Can we just say that summer is flying by way too quickly?!! We've been up to lots even though I haven't taken the time to post. Lately we've done some fishing, gone to the splash park, Swimming... & running through the sprinklers, Doug's gone roping... LOTS & has done very well, gone to plenty of rodeos, worked in the yard, played some more, & even hit up the new Toy Story 3 movie one rainy day. (I highly recommend this show. Very cute, & we loved it cuz Hazen is way into Toy Story right now. ;) ) Anyhow, this is just a lil update to sum up some of what we've been up to. We are starting to count down the days till we get our new little one here. Just about 4 weeks or so to go! YIPPEE!!

Billings Montana...

So the events for our spring/summer fun have begun in full swing. Another stop along the road of the roper/rodeo mans life... ha ha... (Although this is no joke at all... & this is mainly how my husband sees "traveling" through his eyes.) None the less, I will not complain because it does get me outa the house, BUT... it has been very hard for me not being able to compete at all in this point of my pregnancy & makes for a much less exciting time. Hazen I spend lots of time together though, & that is good. I don't know what I'd do without my lil boy by my side. Crazy to think that soon I'll have two to be chasing after! :)

Birthday Boy! ~ #3 ~

Hazen just turned 3 this last Friday (4/23)! I can't believe my lil man is growing up so fast. He is such a fun & happy boy. It truly amazes me how he relates to people. He is such a understanding little thing at his young age. I hope he always stays that way. :) Thanks to all the friends & family who came over to celebrate his birthday with us. Here are some things that Hazen loves to do all by himself... he's very independent!... :

*Says his own prayers

*Potty trained

*Ropes on his own... been doing this for a lil over a year now. :) (He swings a nice loop too)

*Gets himself dressed or tells me what he wants to wear... (it's usually his bulldogging shirt or so he calls it.)

*Pretends to play "Cowboy" & travels to various rodeos daily... or so he tells us.

*Rides his own big boy bike... which he asked for his 3rd birthday... & it had to be RED.

* Knows all his colors

* Counts to 20 (usually anyhow still messes up now & then)

*Writes the letter H

*Helps me with whatever he's asked

He has a very special spirit & we honestly don't know what we'd do without him!!!!

So this past October was a very eventful one!... I was lucky enough to be able to go on a "Girls Only" trip with my two sisters, mom, & my niece. We had such a BLAST! :) We had so many laughs, good talks, & tons of site seeing. It was AMAZING! Oregon is BEAUTIFUL! Especially in the autumn season. It was great to get away but it was nice to get back home to my boys! Halloween was a blur for us because everything seemed to run together... (my trip, getting ready for snow, & of course Halloween) I swear everything just all happens way to quickly! We've been having lots of fun lately but I have had so little time to make a post! :)

Billings Montana Wrangler Championships 2009

Here are a few shots of the fun we had while getting away to Billings for about 4 days. I LOVE Montana! Hazen had to try his luck on the roping dummy. He took his turn along side of the other "older" boys who were like 14-16 yrs. old. He didn't care, he just wanted to rope. :) Doug & I both roped in the championships there in Billings. This was from about 3wks ago but I'm finally getting it posted. Sorry. :)

From Baby to Big BOY!!

Hazen is getting so grown up it's unbelievable! Today I spent the day cleaning & doing a few things around the house... not to mention take down all of his baby bedding & put his BIG BOY bed up! I about started to bawl. I cannot believe he's too big for that dang crib!... Actually, I can I just didn't want to have to admit it. :) It was kind of hard for me to make the change, but it was well over due.

& these last two pic's are w/ the new bed put up. He was so excited to have his "BIG BOY" bed up that he had to hurry & test it out. He told me, "OK mom I'm ready, take the picture... CHEESE!" He's such a ham! We love this little guy. Now we are just crossing our fingers that he'll realize he's getting bigger & want to be a big boy & go on the toilet... UGH! BOYS! LOL! Any suggestions would be WONDERFUL.

Awh . . . SUMMER!! It's been a fun & very busy one. It's almost been 2 whole months since I've last posted anything. Why is it that summer always seems to fly by so quickly? Especially in IDAHO where the weather is un-predictable! :) We managed to fit plenty of exciting things into our time frame, & plenty of productive things also. These pictures are a collection of just some of the summer events that have kept us busy: swimming, Lagoon, mowing the lawn, hauling hay, spending time w/ family, spotting game in our back yard, washing horses, George Strait concert, Montana, & of course ROPING! Sorry I haven't elaborated on anything, but we've just been goin goin. I will be a faithful blogger just as soon as things slow down a bit. ;)

This time of year is crazy for us. Doug enjoys going to local rodeos, & we have a fun time watching & of course I love taking some "action pictures." Here are a few from the Rigby Sampede Rodeo the first part of June, & of course I'm behind w/ my posts! :) We went to support Doug, & my lil bro Wyatt. It was a great day. Prior to the rodeo we had gone to a memorial team roping & Doug won 1st place! Too bad his luck didn't carry over to the rodeo. He had a nice run but broke the barrier. My brother on the other hand had a greagt night winning the steer wrestling w/ a 4.0. Also, I'm pretty proud of this neat picture of my Dad!

Honestly, Hazen would live outside if We let him! He's a total BOY! He loves the dirt, mud, water, etc. You Name it! We've been keeping really busy. If you haven't heard from us it's cuz we've been outside riding horses, playing in the water, working in the yard, riding the four wheeler, or maybe even climbing a dirt pile or two! ;) Haze is so busy & so independent. We absolutely LOVE him, & have been very blessed to have such a sweet kid. Although . . . we still have the occasional wanna rip our hair out moments . . . BUT, what parent doesn't RIGHT?!! ;)

Easter Sunday

Hazen was so good at church . . . afterwards he didn't want his picture taken though. He does this hopping thing, so I had to buy these bunny ears for him this Easter season to get the full effect. It was so funny to watch him hop hop all over.

We went to Grandma Sydney's & Grandpa Karl's for Easter dinner. We had tons of fun, & Grandma had a whole Easter Egg Hunt planned for the kids. It was a really fun & nice day. Hazen loves the Bowen cousin's little puppy Roxy. He couldn't get enough of her & kept packing her around like she was his little baby.

I know everyone cusses me cuz I have my camera ALWAYS . . . but you'll thank me one day cuz I have a billion & one pictures of our family . . . both sides that is. :) Even though, I absolutely hate this picture of myself, I posted it anyhow. I figured I needed to document our Easter Egg hunt anyhow. Love all you guys, & thanks for the fun day!

Wrangler Team Roping - Ogden, UT.

Our weekend trip to Ogden was a fun one. The weather was so beautiful!!!! . . . The team roping was inside which was kinda a bumber considering how nice it was. Being in the nice warm (no snow) weather, made me crave for spring to really get here . . . FAST! Before we roped Hazen had to try out his skills on mommy's horse. I'm telling ya'll he's a natural, & honestly it's something he loves & has loved from day one. He was on cloud 9 all weekend. :)

Doug & I had lots of fun roping. We didn't come home with any earnings, but it was fun, & good practice for me cuz I had never roped in a big roping like that before. I roped in the #6 team roping which was actually a bit of a mistake on our part. It was really competitive! There were almost 4oo teams! It was fun to get the feel of it though. Maybe one day I'll get good enough to win something . . . but for now, I'm just happy to be out having fun & being w/ my family.

4th Anniversary!

Our 4th anniversary was last Wednesday on the 11th of March. We knew we were leaving for the upcoming weekend for a fast little trip to Utah, so we kept the evening pretty low-key to save a lil on some spending.
That evening we enjoyed dinner together as a family. Doug made some awesome steaks, & I made potatoes & salad. Like I said . . . (Low- key, but it was really good & we had fun.)

After dinner I gave Doug a small anniversary present. We were needing a few things for the weekend trip coming up, which was going to be a team roping in Utah, so I grabbed what was needed cuz I knew Doug would appreciate the help of getting prepared for the weekend. Doug purchased a nice gift for the two of us. He got tickets to the DNCFR which will be in April this year. He knew I'd been wanting to go. It's been 3 years since I've gone. :)

So Wyatt turned the big #22 on Wednesday March the 4th. We surprised him w/ a birthday lunch & a surprise visit from his girlfriend Kelsi! We had tons of fun & plenty of laughs! Wyatt, hope you enjoyed it just as much as your 3 sisters did! We love you so much & are so proud of you, & we're excited for all that the future holds for you! Also congrats on Ace'ing all your Spanish tests to test out and earn yourself 12 credits onto your school record. YOU ROCK! HAPPY # 22!!!!

"My Cowboy Hat!"

So the other day we made a quick visit to CAL- Ranch . . . Well, we thought it'd be a quick visit until we came across this "Cowboy Hat" Hazen had in mind for himself! :)

While Doug was grabbing some lights he needed for fixing the trailer, Hazen & I made a trip to the other side of the store to grab some much needed pants for Hazen . . . he's growing too fast & his others are starting to become "high waters" on him . . . Long story short, Hazen grabs this black hat off the rack while I'm debating between jeans. He tells me "Mommy it's My Cowboy Hat!" So instead of having him scream the whole way through the store I let him wear it up to the front. Big mistake. He figured he had it on & he wasn't taking it off. Doug attempted to grab it as we pulled into the check out line & Hazen said, "Stop it Daddy, it's My Cowboy Hat!" Doug looked at me, looked at the check out girl, & handed her the hat. She rang it up . . .

Hazen then replied "Thank You Daddy . . . it's My Cowboy Hat!" . . . This silly lil man obviously loved this hat. How cute it was to see the smile on his face when Doug handed it back to him & reminded me & the check out girl to "Never bring Hazen back inside that store." . . . Yeah right DADDY!!!! :)

We all know better . . . Doug's gonna give Hazen plenty more trips back to Cal Ranch. Besides, He was so excited when we got home. He hurried & grabbed his horse "Harvey" . . . smiled, laughed & shouted "Yeah Haw . . . Yah Hoo . . . I'm a Cowboy!" Just like Tyrone on the Backyardigans . . . his favorite show! :) He was so happy he was giving Harvey "Wuvs, & Tisses" Or Loves & Kisses however ya wanna say it.

Hunntyr's 4th Birthday Party!

My Niece Hunntyr McKall just turned 4 years old on February the 16th. We had a lil get together & went sledding at a local hill. We had tons of fun. Here are a few of the pictures I captured that afternoon.

Hazen Loves spending time w/ his Daddy!! . . . he was eager to leave & hang out outside w/ Dad. He loves being in the shop working, feeding the animals, & of course riding the "Toys" (four wheeler/ snow machines.) Doug always laughs at me because I have about a million pictures! :) Oh well, I love having some type of hard copy for memories sake. This first pictures is on Red Rock Road looking to the northern mountain range just off of Henry's Lake. The last three pictures are from a ride we went on. The cabin we stayed at wasn't too far from the Johnny Sac cabin, so we made a loop around there & stopped to let Hazen feed the fish & the ducks. There was also a coral for loading/sorting cattle near the Meadow Creek turnout & I had to take a picture to show how much snow was up there! I was even told that the amount of snow up there now is actually below average! WOW. . . ! It was a fun experience, & a great time!

Island Park Getaway . . .

Fun for our lil family!!!! We spent the weekend at a friend's cabin in Island Park. We had tons of fun hangin out together & riding our sleds. Hazen Loooved it! He would cry & tell me, "I wanna ride . . ." if he wasn't able to go on a particular ride. He doesn't like to be left out at all. Sadly at the "almost" age of two, he already knows what getting left out is! He's quite the kid! He does something new pretty much each day, & puts the biggest smile on both our faces! One good thing about Hazen is, he's usually ALWAYS happy. We call him our "Happy Hazen." :)

Hazen was showing us how cool he was riding Mom's sled. Actually, at this point in the ride he wasn't wanting a single picture. The sun was in his eyes, & he was starting to drift in & out of a nap. He was a trooper though, & made sure he tried his hardest to NOT fall asleep. One question for ya'll . . . Does Hazen look like a girl? . . . all weekend he got called a lil girl???!! People would point & say "what a cute lil girl!" . . . HONESTLY, do people not know that normal people dress babies in color coordinate to their sex? I mean, I wouldn't be taking my new baby boy home in a pink onsie, & pink receiving blanket?!!! . . . Come on people, he's dressed in baby blue for heck sake!

Hazen loves is Dad! He was just so happy to be with Dad all weekend long with no interruptions! . . . I have to admit, it was great to have us all there together & having lots of fun. I love this last (bottom) picture of Hazen. He was being so cute & singing Once There Was a Snow Man! :) He loved being outside in the snow, & I think this picture shows how truly Happy Hazen really was, & is. :)

New Years Day! 2009

4 years ago Doug asked me to marry him on New Years Day . . .I honestly can't believe where the time has taken us! We've had our good days, & our bad days, just like everyone else. . . But I'm so happy we're where we are today! Thanks Doug, you are the best, & I appreciate all you do for Hazen & I!

Wow! What an amazing accomplishment. We have been very lucky to share some wonderful times w/ our Grandparents over the years. They have always been such special people to me! Hazen was so cute on Christmas morning. He didn't quite know what to think about tearing into any presents though. He got his favorite cartoon character "Pablo" from the Backyardigans! . . . That's all we ever watch at our house! :) Grandma & Grandpa Torgerson spoiled him & got him a lil 4 wheeler, & he absolutely loves it! . . . Thanks Ken & Renay, we love you guys!

So for the Kinghorn Klan it's tradition to get together every Christmas Eve for dinner, The Christmas Story, & also for our gift exchange. We always have lots of fun! Some other traditions we have are, opening p.j.'s on Christmas Eve, & also an ornament to hang on the tree. All of us girls & Wyatt, have really enjoyed this & so far we've done a really good job with keeping up w/ our traditions. :) Love you guys!

Christmas Decorations 2008! . . .

This year I ended up w/ two trees. It's actually kinda ironic because I was thinking about getting a small tree to put on our kitchen table so Hazen wouldn't get it. Anyhow, long story short I got the real tree from a friend who shot it w/ his shot gun . . . yep he actually went "Tree Hunting", & my artificial tree was spur of the moment on a good buy from Walgreen's. :) We had fun decorating, & Hazen was really good about leaving them be. His favorite part about the decorations was every morning he had to plug the lights in. After he'd plug one tree in he'd say "Awh . . . cute", stand there for a minute & then run to the next one to plug it's lights in. Just because of that I'm so happy that I wasn't lazy & got my tree(s) up! :)

We decided that we needed some updated photos for the house, & as keepsakes. We started taking pictures close by the house but Doug decided it would be really neat to take some pictures out 2 Humphrey w/ the awesome fall colors. We were on the same page there cuz I wanted as much fall colors as I could get . . . I mean come on . . . I'd even planned our wardrobes around fall colors! :) Our friend Chelsie does such a great job taking pictures, we convinced her to shoot some for us. We are really happy w/ the turn out! We decided to have a small get together out 2 the Togerson's for a late Thanksgiving cuz everyone went their seperate ways on Thanksgiving Day. Our niece Jordyn had a birthday on the 19th of November & got a really cool new toy . . . A John Deere Tactor. She loved showing it off 2 us, & was more than happy to let Hazen take it for a test drive as well. How cute is she!!!!

These top 2 pictures are some that I have taken w/ my new camera. I was quite proud of them. In fact, I have them framed in my house. I thought they were unique enough, & had plenty of character to them. The middle picture is just one I snapped while Hazen was out jumping w/ his dog "Bear". He was being so cute, & Bear is really good to Hazen. Bear lets Hazen mall him like crazy! This bottom picture was taken by a friend while we were gathering the last of the cows up to Humphrey. Lots of memories we have of the ranch. We love it up there! . . .

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Thanksgiving was such an awesome day for our family! It was such a beautiful day we decided to play some football while we waited for the turkey. It got pretty intense . . . I had fun handling my new birthday present (MY CAMERA)! After that we enjoyed a scrumptious dinner feast that Justin, Kalley, & Mom prepared. Thanks, it really was delicious! After that we had the opportunity to go on a wagon ride. Justin hooked up the team, & old Bullet & Sparky took us on a joyful ride. Thanks for doing that Justin, it really topped the day off. :) After that it was back to the Bowen's for pie . . . pie . . . & more PIE! We also enjoyed each others company by playing card games, & laughing w/ each other. It was so much fun. Thanks again Bowen's!!!!
